The Hero’s Creed
You’re not the main character
We’ve been taught to think about life as a story. That’s a good thing, but it’s led many of us to believe that we’re the main character. Promising freedom, it’s actually a crushing burden. The world really doesn’t revolve around you. And that should come as a relief.
But you’re not an NPC* either
It’s also possible to shrink away from life so much that we’re detached from the world around us, passively scrolling through an ocean of media, believing that we have nothing to contribute.
This, too, is false.
*non playable character.
Stories make sense of life...
So what makes sense of stories?
Answering this is why I’m developing, The Hero’s Creed.
It tackles the enigma of our story-driven existence and presents the Christian gospel through the lens of storytelling.
Essentially The Hero’s Creed tells a better story.
Here’s how it goes…
Imagine for a moment a world thrumming with story. A world in which human beings believe stories matter and that their lives only make sense in story form.
And now imagine that there is no Great Storyteller. And this lack of a Great Storyteller has thrown everything into confusion.
So now people start to fight over the story; what it is, who the main characters are and how they relate to each other.
