The children’s Christian orphanage “Sails of Hope” in Slavyansk, Donetsk region, was reopened on December 6 after reconstruction, Peter Dudnik, head of the orphanage, told The Christian Telegraph. Volunteers from different cities of Ukraine, as well as from other countries, including the US, Czech Republic and Russia, worked on the restoration, showing that God can bring
people together even in the midst of conflict. “Sails of Hope” was partially destroyed during fighting when Slavyansk was under the control of pro-Russian militants. They used the orphanage as a firing point for shooting at Ukrainian military. In response, the Ukrainian military opened fire on pro-Russian militants.
