It’s been week 2 of lockdown here in the UK but Speak Life is just getting started. Watch our 2 minute video Still Reaching Out to get a feel for all that we’re up to.
First of all we released two of our three Easter videos to help you share Jesus online.
There was Sacrifice at the Cinema, an exploration of self-giving in Hollywood films, pointing us to the greatest Hero and his ultimate act of love.
And there was What Makes For A Good Ending?, where we showed kids’ reactions to Beauty and the Beast. We ended the film with the Beast’s death and asked if this was a good ending? Nope! No-one thought so! Then we played the ‘resurrection’ and you can see the difference on their faces!
Down through the years we have made 20 Easter films which you’re welcome to use in your church and your evangelism — videos like If You Had Been Here and Cannonball. Check them all out HERE.
It has never been so easy to invite someone to an evangelistic event. And we are so excited about our evangelistic webinars, beginning next week.
With the help of Rev. Dr Paul Blackham and Dr Joanna Jackson, we are tackling three issues everyone needs to handle: How to face anxiety; How to pray (perhaps for the first time); and How to face our fragility. We would LOVE to see you in the comments section of this live event. Come along and invite a friend or 6!
CAN YOU STAND WITH US?
We have never been busier and never in more need of help.
Will you pray for us — that this gospel seed would bear much fruit as its scattered throughout the world?
And might you give to our work? All that we do relies on the generosity of people just like you. Please go to speaklife.org.uk/give and consider giving a one-off donation, or—even better!—a regular gift to our ministry.
At this time of lockdown it can be hard to envisage the gospel going forwards. But Speak Life is perfectly placed to resource the church and reach the world at a time when online evangelism has never been more effective.
Yesterday was one of the weirdest Sundays in church history. Millions watched online as we practice good social distancing. One such church leader was Marty Gray who leads Ravenhill Presbyterian Church in Belfast. He’ll talk us through his excellent approach to online church. Andrew Sach will talk about a different approach he’s taken at Grace Church, Greenwich. We’re also joined by Ian Anderson Gray, Founder of the Confident Live Marketing Academy and host of the Confident Live Marketing Podcast.
Pandemics are a time when the normal course of life is intensified. Including our fears of mortality, disease, of running out, economic collapse, loneliness as well as 0ur tendencies to dehumanise and towards tribalism. But the church has a message of faith, hope and love to cut through.
