In July 2015 Pastor Peter Dudnik of the Good News Evangelical Church (Slavyansk, Donetsk region), was awarded a third degree of the Ukranian State’s Order Of Merit. The head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Patriarch of Kyiv and All RusUkraine Filaret, also presented pastor Dudnik, and several church volunteers, with a medal “For the sacrifice and love for Ukraine.”
During the hostilities, since April 2014, pastor Dudnik led an active evacuation of civilians from the combat zone, along with a dedicated church team. Altogether they helped evacuate more than 16,000 people. Dudnik wrote in his Facebook page, “I love my land, I love our people. Mostly honour God and His commandments of love. I will serve God and his people!”
Pastor Peter Dudnik is also the head of the You Will be Found national adoption project, and a co-founder of the Ukraine without Orphans Alliance; he is a family counsellor and author of the programme, Preparation for marriage. Peter Dudnik is also the co-founder of a missionary school for the front-line areas and one of the leaders of missionary and volunteer centres in the frontline cities.
