We’re into advent now and churches all over the country (and world) will be gearing up Christmas. But how do we engage people with a Christmas story that most will have heard many times?

Well an engaging Christmas video could be just the ticket, so we’ve collected together some of our best Christmas videos from the last few years, as well as some from other sources. Evangelism has very much been thrust into the spotlight this week with news of the death of American John Allen Chau on North Sentinel Island. Chau was killed by the islanders after landing on the island and attempting to share Jesus with them. Criticism of his actions have been strong from all areas of the world. But why not check out our thoughts on the tragic case and it’s ramifications on cross-cultural mission?

On this week’s LIVEcast, we discuss the wisdom of Chau’s actions in more detail and Glen’s weekly monologue responds to criticism directed at Chau in an article by Janet Street Porter. We also interview missionaries Jeremy Hambrice & Jack Crabtree, currently witnessing to the Wantakia tribe of Papua New Guinea.

Dear Friends

We’ve been running at full pelt over this last week, with Glen away speaking at Monkton Combe School in Bath as well as speaking at All Saints Crowborough’s One Life mission weekend. Events included gin tasting alongside a live jazz band, inflatable fun with an ex-Gladiator (on my first whistle!…) and a gig from singer/songwriter Tom McConnell. Not to mention preaching at all the morning services.

We’ve released a response to a Pro-Choice abortion advert, and Glen made further comment on it during his weekly monologue. Our weekly LIVEcast fell foul of some technical issues at Facebook’s end but we still managed to go live on Youtube, touching on issues such as abortion, Brexit and the argument for God from beauty.

Glen has also recorded one of our termly updates on the work of Speak Life.

• Last year, across 5 videos released at Christmas, we reached a million viewers. This Christmas we’re reaching out again online with two videos. The first is an exciting 90 second mini-film based on the words of astronaut James Irwin: “God walking on the earth is more important than man walking on the moon.” Our second release will be a mini-documentary exploring the connections between man’s reaching for the heavens and God’s reaching of earth. Please pray that the films would be seen and shared widely.

It’s been a little quiet around the office this week as Glen has been away on various speaking engagements. But that’s not slowed us down.

Paul and Andy took the reins for this week’s LIVEcast, discussing how we might use Sainsburys’ new Christmas advert in our evangelism. They also chatted about how we can preach on the issue of adultery, and took a deeper look at our recent interview with Professor John Wyatt concerning what we see and say about the unborn.
