All across the UK people are putting rainbows in their windows. It’s an ancient beacon of hope — right back to Genesis. After the storm, the sun shines out the clearer. It seems like millions in lockdown are clutching at this kind of hope. But it’s a vague hope with nothing much to ground it.
Yet this week is Easter. And in the death and resurrection of Jesus we have real grounds for hope. After the greatest ever storm — the judgement of the cross — Christ sailed through to the far shore, beyond death and hell. And he says “Because I live, you also will live.”
That’s why we’ve started a movement: Easter Means Hope
We have produced Easter Rainbows (see above) to be placed in your windows as a sign to your neighbourhood of where true hope lies.
You can also use the Easter Rainbow as a Facebook Cover, pointing your virtual neighbours to the same website.
On EasterMeansHope.com your friends and neighbours will find a website with videos to watch and links to churches and courses where they can further explore Easter hope. Please do spread the word!
Another Bumper Crop
We’ve also produced another bumper crop of videos for you — collected together at the bottom of this email. We have:
- interviews with doctors on the frontline of the fight against Coronavirus;
- interviews with homeschoolers preparing us for the new normal;
- webinars dealing with subject like anxiety and prayer;
- more tutorials helping churches adjust to moving online; and
- our latest Easter poem!
We are really spoiling you!
Reaching Out All The More!
Following the success of our evangelistic webinars this week (Adjusting to the New Normal), we are running three more webinars next week. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm (UK time) we will run Life According To Jesus.
Following the 321 outline, we will explore Jesus’ vision of God, the world and you. We would love to see you there for these sessions and do please be praying for this outreach and inviting your friends. Find us here.
As you can see Speak Life is not slowing down at this time, we’re just getting started. If you are able to support us in this vital outreach, we would be so grateful. One-off gifts are wonderful but monthly commitments help even more. Could you prayerfully consider partnering with us at this time. We are not taking a backwards step during this crisis and we’d love to step forward with you! Please go to speaklife.org.uk/give.
And sign up to get these updates in your email:
Every blessing in Jesus,
Glen Scrivener and the Speak Life Team.
