Dear Friends,
How should we approach reaching our culture with the gospel? Do we lead with an apologetic stance, showing people that faith is reasonable in order to then be able to share something of Jesus and the resurrection? Or do we lead with Jesus and the resurrection? Well what approach do we find in scripture. Advocates of apologetics have long camped out in Acts 17 whilst those in favour of leading with Christ have made their arguments from 1 Corinthians 1. But are these really two different approaches? Is Paul contradicting himself or did he simple change his approach. Why not have a look at Glen’s latest video examining the subject and the listen to Paul and Glen delve deeper into the subject on this week’s LIVEcast?
This week also saw the report of two separate instances of people’s response to two autistic boys. One response gets it very right. One gets it very wrong. One was at a theme park in the States, the other a chapel in Cambridge. Can you guess which way round it was? Watch the LIVEcast or listen to our podcast to find out.
In case you missed any of that, we’ve collected all of these resources for you right here!
Coming Up For Speak Life
We’d value your prayers for these upcoming projects and engagements:
- Give thanks for a positive week of evangelism at Christchurch Banstead. Do keep praying for the last few days of events this weekend and then for the follow up.
- Please continue to pray for accommodation for our interns. We are asking local churches to ask their congregations if anyone can put people up. Pray for people to come forward and for interns to be matched to the right hosts.
- Pray for wisdom as we look ahead and consider the shape of our ministry and output in the light of the Foundry programme and the new interns.
