Matthew 5:13
Christians are meant to be distinctive. Unsalty salt is useless. We’re meant to stand out. And one way we’re meant to stand out is in judgement. Salt is associated with judgement in the Bible (think of Lot’s wife, or the Old Testament sacrifices which were salted, Lev 2:13). Therefore there comes a point where Christians need to graciously disagree, to speak truth when it’s unpopular. In our witness we’re meant to “spice things up.”
PRAY for courage and sensitivity to know how to be “salty” in our speech, speaking up for truth when appropriate.
