Our own sins before God are a debt costing hundreds of billions (10,000 talents). By comparison, the sins of others are like a debt of a few thousand which we must absorb. A few thousand pounds is not nothing. If you cost me £5,000 that’s a significant hurt you have done me. But as soon as I remember the hundred billion my worries are relativised. This is how to deal with the sins which others commit against us. They are significant hurts, but as soon as we remember our own guilt and the lavish forgiveness of Christ, how can we not forgive? Are there people we need to forgive? Let’s go to Christ acknowledging our own impossible debt and His incredible grace.
PRAY for true perspective about our sins and for the grace to forgive.
