The Cuban city of Sancti Spíritus has recently celebrated five hundred years since its foundation. Amid special events, 17 therapists, mechanics and auxiliary personnel of the ministry of
Joni and Friends spent time with disabled people in the town, bringing 220 wheelchairs and other implements with them. The event was organised by the Cuban Council of Churches. A Gospel
message was delivered and Bibles offered to all who wished to receive them. As a result 57 people who did not know the Grace of God manifested their desire to receive Jesus Christ. The
testimonies of joy and gratitude were a poignant reminder of the name given by the Spanish to the city 500 years ago: “City of the Holy Spirit.”

PRAISE God that in this communist island, the Gospel of love opens people’s hearts to Jesus. PRAY for the Cuban Council of Churches to have more opportunities to present the Gospel.
