Revelation 1:17-18
In this edition of the Speak Life Daily our devotionals have taken us on a journey through the Bible picking up the theme of darkness then- light, death-then-life, cross-then-resurrection. We began in Genesis so now let us finish in Revelation and see the same pattern in effect with John. In the presence of the risen Lord Jesus, John is swept off his feet, only to be raised up again and given strength. The rest of the book flows from this encounter. John is made a minister of the word through a meeting with Christ which humbles and then exalts him. This is the pattern for the whole Bible and it must be our pattern too. No fruitful service can happen without profound encounter with Jesus. And no profound encounter can happen with Jesus without a falling and a rising.
PRAY to know the glory of Christ which humbles and the grace of Christ which exalts.
